ミヤタトモコ Tomoko Miyata
愛知県春日井市出身。高校卒業後、ジャズに憧れて渡米した後、自分の日本人としての感覚とブラジル音楽との親和性を感じ英語とポルトガル語での演奏活動を始める。ニューヨークで会社員として働きながら演奏活動を続け、ブラジリアン・ギターの第一人者、ホメロ・ルバンボに見いだされ、2010年に「Secret Of Life」、2011年に「Begin Anywhere」をBounDEE Inc. (現 Space Shower Music)よりリリース。2016年に帰国後、奄美大島に移り住んでからは、ゆったりとしたライフスタイルを反映したソングライティングに取り組む。2020年5月、初のセルフプロデュースアルバム『大きな海の中をゆく私たち』を発表。2023年から奄美大島を拠点に全国で演奏活動を行い、英語や歌の講師としても積極的に活動している。
Born in Aichi, Japan. After graduating from high school, she moved to Los Angeles to learn music and jazz. She later found many common feelings between Japanese music that she knew as a child and Brazilian music that she encountered and started performing in both English and Portuguese. She eventually moved to NYC and had a full-time career in finance and continued performing in the city. She released two albums – “Secret Of Life” in 2010 and “Begin Anywhere” in 2011 from BounDEE Inc. (now Space Shower Music), working with the first-call Brazilian guitarist, Romero Lubambo. After moving back to Japan in 2016, she relocated to Amami Oshima, Kagoshima, and has been writing songs that reflect the slow and natural lifestyle, and continuing to perform around Amami and all across Japan. She also actively teaches singing and English whenever there are students eager to learn.
